Seeing Old Friends!

This weekend i went to se a friends video work at Number35 down town on Esex street! It was great not the works of art but seeing an old friend Jason Keeling again. It has been a good 6-7 years since i have seen him!He is still aqs talented as ever! and i got to meet a friend of his Edwin who just happen to know another old friend that is no longer with us, Willie Ninga! so we talk about willie and had a really nice chat!Seeing Jason was great and he said he photos of my beloved nephew Rommel who is nolonger with us either and that was so cool, i cant wait to see them!Jason's friend Edwin runs a center for contemporary art called ALJIRA and the are doing a film showing of PARIS IS BURNING next week! that is a hoot!

Seeing my baby!

Well i went to vist my daughter Emma last weekend. It was great! when she saw me she jumped up out of her seat and screamed "daddy! daddy!" and of course all i could do is cry! then she did the cuttist thing, she looked up and said "...why are you crying?" i said , because i miss you so much, then she said " dont cry daddy i am right here see, i am here!" well that made me cry even more! well for the rest of the weekend she talk and talked and it was wonderful! We went to see Madagazcar2 which she loved! Then we went to do a lite shopping cause Daddy is broke right now but anyway, we went shopping and she was like " naw i dont like this... naw , i want a unicorn on it!" everything i showed her she replayed "naw.." until she saw a tyee-shirt with deer on it, well she loved that! Of course they did not have it in her size, which meant that she was going to have a meltdown! So i quickly showed her other things just as cute! didnt work she wanted the dam deer! needless to say we did not get the deer, she settled for the horses instead. saved by the horses, which she loves! I spent a lot of time watching her color and place Dora stickers alover me and my friends and thier family! My friend Bob danced around his house with emma amd that was so sweet, just watching her have a ball with bob, tina and thier family! my weekend was a blessing!

Ken's in the house!

Well i most tell you wednesday Ken Jones did a shoot with a new girl to NYC, Nataliya and it was really great! Mealanie Harris did hair & makeup the new guy Jason did the styling at the last minute and turned it out! Its been awhile since we did a shoot like that we just had to keep everyone focused and it was great and Ken then treated us to a russian lunch! The stylist went and got popeye's chicken, i wasnt mad at him! The photos are beautiful! They are just Ken's book needed i am really happy with them!

Shooting it out!

Hey people we had a long week! you hear me! l-o-n-g! But a great week, its so good to be busy and sowing the seeds for the future! Monday & Tuesday alex shot! Oh! tuesday we met this model Hana(she the nexus girl in the ads) and we all feel in love with her! She was so cool to work with and a total wsweetheart! We also worked with this firece makeup artist Ashunta (who does all of Alicia Keys stuff) who did the most genius face! Not to ment Miss Tippi who whipped the hair (also whips Alicia's hair) and Ashunta's best friend Wauri styled the hell out of the shoot! he was a stone blast! As the Soul Train crowd would have said! oops! dated my self! The whole day was amazing! Alex wasnt feeling it at first, after a good talking to be the crew, who told him to just do his thing and he did! ALEX DID NOT PLAY! The pics are amazing! Just want to give a shout-out to jason , the stlyists asst. and sarah the hair asst. they are both very talented and so nice!

I aint mad!

Let me start by saying "I aint mad..." at Alex Covo! i haven't known Alex very long but feel like i have known him for years. Have you ever met someone that you felt like you have known them or have met before? well i have done a handful of shoots with him and each time this guy makes me think wow! he is truely talented and a visionary! he has such a love for beauty and fashion and not in that creepy designer snobby way, but in a really creative way. Everyone that i have introduce him to loves him! which really says a lot! One of my oldest and closest friends Ken Jones (who is not only a brilliant person but incrediable photographer/ computer genius) told me all about Alex before we met! Ken never talks about some one the way he talked about alex, he said that alex and i would hit it off and we did! it is so nice to rep two people that i truely care about. I have been truely blessed, when i first come back to NYC and met Alex we talked like old friends! I truely believe that god buts people in you life that will make a difference! oh! talking about people in my life! i just got together with a friend that i have not seen in 6-7 years! i found her old business card and called the number on it and she pick up! well after she got up off the floor! we talked for ever and got together the other night and had a hoot! she cooked and we ate and talked until 3am! then i had to get on the 6 train, like JLO, to 23rd street, yes i took the train, dont play wit me! well it was so cool seeing Susan who is a really amazing makeup / hair person! she too is trying to get back into the swing of things and its all good, I aint mad!

Missing Monday!

Well i woke up this morning feeling pretty good, said my prayers to start my day and had a thought about my daughter Emma! i have not seen her in a couple of months and for the first time in a long time i went totally numb! i completely fell apart! I rreally miss my child! Even with all the wonderful things happening in my life right now, missing my child seemed to make me feel at an all time low! So i emailed afriend or two and my family about how i was feeling and my cell rang and the voice on the other end said "D whats tha matter? you alright?" and thats all i needed! i broke down told her how i was feeling cryed a little bit and she said " i am gonna hold on till you finish crying, i am here.." i tell you that was something ! I let shit out i didnt know i was holding in! it felt great! and she held on too! sometimes its the little things that make everthing alright! She will never know how important that was for me! i want to tell you that after crying like a little b#@$h i came out of the bathroom and got myself together and made my calls and handled my business!

COMME des GARCONS

I just had a chance to look at the Nov/08 issue of Details magazine, where i saw an for H&M stores. 4 page ad for COMME des GARCON clothing, at H&M! OMG! First of all i love the clothes from Rei Kawakubo! always have, just she never made clothes in my size the cow! and now if i was thinner i could finally afford them, well almost afford them. those of you that are thin better run down and get you some COMME des GARCON because you know they will be sold out because its only in select stores!

Whats new!

I have just come back to New York and i am ready to do my thing! I am starting a new business for my self called darrin represents i am representing veteran photographer Ken Jones who shoots fashion, beauty, catalog and makes the most stunning wedding photos you will ever see! I also rep fashion photographer Alex Covo who's is a fashion visionary already! He does the most innovative shots i have seen in a long while! Last but not least is celebrity Hairstylist Lisa Mitchell who has always been a innovator in hair and hair care!You have seen her work from Victoria's Secret to American Vogue and didnt even know it! With this team we intend to take new York by storm! I will keep you posted!
