SHOOTING EIN!

Friday we shot a model from ELITE named Ein Tan! lovely! Ken Jones did the photo's and ny home girl Melanie Harris did the makeup and my new find, Kenney farmer did the hair! the photos are lovely! The styling was done by my boy Jason and we were really pleased! The model went back to her agent Oscar and said that she had a ball and that we were so cool to work with! see they love me!

MAKE IT HAPPEN!

Tuesday evening i was invited to a networking event at a place called Stitch bar & lounge. It was really a nice event most of the people there were in the fashion business. Designers, Art buyers ,Stylist and Me! There were people from real estate agents to Attorneys at Law! I made some cool conections and some of those people have already contacted me and its only thursday! I cant wait for the next one. my good friend Melanie harris, who does hair & makeup, turned me on to the event thanks miss Mel!I also went with my childhood friend and Muse Dolores, who just started her own business The Helpful Diva! Even my long lost Son Paul turned up!So even if we hadnt made a connection or two it was good hanging with good friends!

ALVARO IN THE HOUSE!

I am really excited about my new project! He's an old, dear friend, Alvaro the renown fashion illustrator/ painter. We have been talking about working together for months and we are finally working together, its so wonderful! I have always loved his work and his new stuff is lovely. Its soft and flowing and modern! Alvaro has been doing what he does best for most of his life and his artwork has been seen by everyone! I have been looking at all of his work over his career and i have to say i am more than proud to say he is my friend! the VIBE cover and the VANITY FAIR covers are simply amazing! the drawings of all his super model friends are wonderful! I was just reminded of how and when i met Alvaro, it was through one of my best friends Joyce Yuille who was working with him at a department store in the city and she told him that she had a friend that went to F.I.T. as well. We were at a show and i was back stage and Alvaro was there everyone was talking and some one said my name and Alvaro turned around and asked ,with this big handsome smile " are you darrin, joyces friend ?!" and the rest is history, we have been friends ever since and that was way back in 1980 OMG! I think i was about 8yrs old then( i wish) i again am glad to be working with such a talent who happens to be a friend as well!

SHOOTING DAZE!

Yesterday Ken Jones did a shoot with th Diva, Raphaella she gives it to ya! and the hair was done by Kenny Farmer a new guy that whip the hairs into bouncing and behaving! He is a new talement that i will be working with alot in the future, as his agent! Make-up by jacob who is totally off the wall! he was doing runway up and down the studio with this little peice of hair on his head! That was really funny! We did three looks on her and the kids turned it out! the pics are really wonderful everyone got something amazing! Raphaella is so amazing to work with. She got infront of the camera and tore it up! what was really cool is that Kenny and Jacob worked reaqlly good together and they are a hoot to work with! as an agent thats really good to know because then i could book them as ateam on jobs! i am loving that!

VALENTINO! VALENTINO! VALENTINO!

Say it three times and maybe he will be like Beetlejuice and re-apear! OMG! Last night i went to see "THE LAST EMPEROR" and i tell you Valentino was and is the MF***ING man! I have always loved his clothes and the way he carried him self, but this movie gave you a look at his world in a very different way! he seems to be a very shady little man! There were so many scenes that i thought they better work! Like when hair stylist Orlando Pita was doing the hair for the show and he is trying to explain the BIG hair he wantrs to do Mr. Valentino never changes the look on his face, and when Orlando is done telling him what he wants to do there is a pause... and Mr.Valentino said to him "... you no like shignon..." i thought that was so firece! The movie had alot of comic moments! Oh! i loved when Karl Lagerfeld hugs Valentino and says "... we are the only two who make clothes all the others make rags!" that was priceless! Valentino was truley the last of the couture Designers, i had no idea that all of the dresses in the Couture Collection are done by hand! Yes! by hand not a sewing machine is in the place! The movie was really good and it was really nice watching it with two old friends Louis brown and Melanie Harris! We had a really good time! We have to do that more often. i am only sorry that i did invite more of our friends!

BABY'S NOT WELL!

My little girl Emma is not feeling well, poor thing on monday morning i got a call around 8:30am and i was informed the she had a cough and a tummy ach! The funny part was in the back ground as i was talking to her mom i could hear her howling and asking her mom to help her! My god i have a drama queen in training! When she got to the phone she says " Dad i dont feel well... my tummy hurts!" so of course i told her that she would be alright and that she just needed to get alittle something in her tummy and then she would be ok, well i guess thats not what she wanted to hear because there was a short pause.. the she said " here talk to mom.." Needless to say i told her mom to get her to eat a couple of chezzits and some gingerale and she would feel fine, which she did and felt much better!

SHOWBIZ EXPO

Hey kids, i went to the SHOWBIZ FILM EXPO last night, Photographer Ken Jones called me last minute and told me about the Expo so i got meself together and met him there! And it was really cool! Not just because the ladies were loving me! I was looking good if i say so my self! But i digress! There were alot of film people, production, actors, hair & make artist... um that were not that great! I got some great ideas from attending and there are so many people that are still trying to make it big in the movie business! There was a young lady named Angela who is an actress in a new movie and is a hottie!I met a couple of really cool people that i will stay intouch with!

There is JOYce in New York!

One of my Best friends was in New York llast week and most of this week! It was great! We have not hungout like that in years 10 years! The old gang was back together for the first time in years! And it was really a blast! seeing Louis Brown, Boris, Diane and Kerry! Joyce's vist brought together alot of people that have not spoken to one another in years! And even added some new friends to the mix! Dani and singer friend of joyce's is so cool! we had a ball at her gig and then at dinner! we will keep intouch! It is so good to reconnect with old friends! Life is truely wonderful!

Shooting with Ashley!

Today i shoot with the lovely ASHLEY! She is truely a beauty! and i am working with two new people, make up Artist Selma and Hair Stylist Kenny and they were firece! They worked the Hair & Makeup! We shoot with Ken Jones and the shoots was great! We did 3 different looks and i cant wait to but them on this site! I will keep you posted!

"The Meeting"

On my flight to michigan, i had the peasure of meeting the Siegel family. They were sitted in the last row of the plaine with me! Mom, Dad and the three kids. i sat next to the littlest one Sam who is 3 years old and smart as a whip! We became fast friends. His dad Dr. marc Siegel appears regularly on the fox morning show(which i have not seen yet) and i a really nice guy. His wife, also a doctor was really sweet! offered me cookies! But sam was a gem! he shared his poptarts and prigles with me and asked all sorts of questions! Most people would have dreaded sitting next to 3 children but this family was a pleasure! The next time i fly, forget first class its the last row for me!

Seeing baby!

Well i went home to Michigan to see my daughter her birthday was Dec.20th she turned 5. well we had a blast! she sang me christmas songs and we watched christmas shows that she likes and went shopping and had a wonderful time! she is truly wonderful! and she is getting so tall! My trips home are a blessing! I miss her so much when i am in New York. Speaking to her everyday sure does help!
